Joshua Ng

JOSHUA NG JIN HO, 26, , won 1st Place in the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition. Joshua, a multi-award competition winner was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City under the patronage of the Perak State Menteri Besar. At Carnegie Hall, he further won the Best Performance Award of the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition 2013. In the year 2019, he was champion in the Young Artist Piano Solo Category of the Putra International Piano Competition.

Being an accomplished pianist, he took home not less than 20 awards and championship titles from national and international level piano competitions, including the Roland Asia Pacific Piano Competition, Hong Kong Asia Pacific Piano Competition, the Australia-New Zealand Cultural Arts Music Competition, the Malaysian Youth Orchestra Foundation Music Competition, etc.

At 9, he received the PRIME MINISTER’S AWARD for Piano Performance. At 11, he was awarded with Distinction, the Associate Diploma Trinity College in piano recital. By 13, being the highest distinction mark holder to his Licenciate diploma, he won the London Trinity Guildhall Award of Excellence 2011. He was finally approved at Fellowship Trinity College London in Solo Piano.

Joshua Ng Ipoh born, was trained by Yamaha Music School teacher, Ms. Khen Seow Yoke from the age of 5. Consequently, his piano tutors were Ms. Joyce Ho and Mr. Kok Kee Boon. At the Overseas Malaysian Winter Piano Academy in the United Kingdom, he studied under world renowned and top international Malaysian concert pianist, Mr. Bobby Chen.

Apart from the achievements in the music arena, his accolades cover a host of other various winning awards in his academics. In the Co-curriculum Excellence Award 2014, he was champion at Perak State level and he finished second runner-up at national level. In his secondary school days, he has been passionately committed to piano accompaniment, music directing and music arrangement for his school choir, the Sam Tet Voices that won a string of Gold and championship titles in the Hong Kong International Youth Music Competition, Bali International Choir Festival, Malaysian International Music Arts Festival and the World Choir Games in Sochi, Russia In 2015, Joshua was SMJK Sam Tet, Ipoh’s Model Student of the Year.
